To be going to…

Ciao, sono una vostra accanita lettrice, la prima rivista che ho comprato risale al 2000. Guardo tanti film su sky in originale con sottotitoli sempre in inglese e in certi noto un uso eccessivo di “be going to”. E’ giusto o e’ solamente in un tipo di linguaggio fin troppo informale? The expression “to be going to” is not informal, it is Standard English. It is a way of expressing the future. For example: “I am going to see him next week” (lo vedrò la settimana prossima). Perhaps you’re thinking of “gonna” which is a slang abbreviation of “going to” and which is used in most of the English-speaking world.
