Joe’s Pizza

L’accento di Salvatore Vitale di Joe’s Pizza (Speak Up giugno) viene descritto come “New York/Italian American accent”. Ascoltando l’intervista però non mi sembra di cogliere un accento italiano.  È un errore vostro oppure l’accento italiano c’è e lo percepiscono solo gli esperti?
Vincenzo

The “Italian American” accent is different from the “Italian” accent. It’s the accent that Italian immigrants developed (originally in New York) as they started speaking English and it is still used by their descendants. You can hear it in movies like The Godfather or anything with Joe Pesci.
