Carry or take?

Salve, mi potete spiegare la differenza tra i verbi carry e take? In che modo si dovrebbero utilizzare questi due verbi evitando così di commettere errori?  Grazie, Fabio.

Italians often misunderstand the difference between these two  verbs: “to take” is the equivalent of “portare” and refers to the action of bringing (accompanying) someone.
For example: “I take my daughter to school every day” (“Porto mia figlia a scuola tutti i giorni”).
“To carry”, on the other hand, is more physical: it is the equivalent of “portare, spostare” and refers to the action of moving someone or something. For example: “Our baby is heavy, and carrying him is bad for my wife’s back” (“Il nostro bimbo è pesante, portarlo fa male alla schiena di mia moglie”).
