Non mi è mai stata chiara la divisione in sillabe in inglese. Potreste spiegarmela? grazie. Maria Rosaria

This is a tough question! There’s a certain innate logic that is hard to explain. For example, if it’s a compound word like “boyfriend” then it could only be “boy-friend.” Similarly, explain is “ex-plain” etc. After that it gets a bit more complicated and it would take us a long time to explain, but these links should help:
